Neptune Zero has secured a €500,000 investment to accelerate the development of its maritime sensor data-driven reporting solution and enhance real-time fleet performance.

Athens, 06 May 2026 – Neptune Zero, a Greek deep-tech company developing AI-powered solutions for vessel performance optimization and automated maritime reporting, announces the completion of a €500,000 seed investment round.

The round was led by Corallia Ventures TT AKES, with participation from angel investors.

AI-driven automation and optimization for global shipping

Neptune Zero is building a modular ecosystem including a platform that combines onboard hardware, edge computing, and cloud-based analytics to automate vessel reporting and optimize fleet performance in real time.

The platform collects and validates operational data using AI algorithms, automatically generates daily reports, and provides real-time fleet analytics, eliminating manual processes and enabling data-driven decision-making across shipping operations.

By replacing error-prone and time-consuming noon reporting workflows, Neptune Zero significantly reduces administrative burden while improving data accuracy and compliance.

Delivering measurable impact: fuel savings, cost reduction and compliance

Neptune Zero’s solution delivers immediate and quantifiable value for shipping companies:

  • ~3% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions
  • ~€100k+ annual savings per vessel on average
  • ROI achievable in approximately 6 weeks
  • Improved CII ratings and reduced regulatory exposure

In fleet-level deployments, Neptune Zero has demonstrated:

  • ~$574k annual fuel savings across a 5-vessel fleet
  • Additional savings from reduced EU ETS exposure
  • Enhanced operational transparency and decision-making

Strong early traction in a growing $700 Billion market opportunity

Neptune Zero is already gaining significant commercial traction:

  • €1 million in contracted value
  • Deployment across 100+ vessels
  • Partnerships with leading Greek & international shipping companies

The company operates in a global maritime ecosystem undergoing rapid digital transformation, driven by decarbonization targets, regulatory pressure (EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, IMO DCS), and rising fuel costs.

With the global merchant fleet exceeding 100,000 vessels and the Marine IoT market projected to reach $689 billion, Neptune Zero is positioned at the forefront of a large and expanding opportunity.

Founders and Investor perspectives

Dr. Antonios Lalechos, Co-Founder & CEO of Neptune Zero, commented:

“This investment marks an important milestone for Neptune Zero as we accelerate the deployment of our technology across global fleets. By combining AI, onboard data capture and real-time analytics, we are enabling shipping companies to reduce fuel consumption, automate reporting and improve on board and offshore operational efficiency in a measurable way.”

Marilena Apostolidou, Co-Founder & COO of Neptune Zero, added:

“Our vision is to bring transparency, accuracy and automation to vessel operations. Shipping companies are facing increasing pressure from both cost and compliance perspectives, and our platform provides a scalable solution that delivers immediate ROI while supporting long-term decarbonization goals.”

Dr. Nikos Vogiatzis, Partner at Corallia Ventures, stated:

“Neptune Zero combines advanced data analytics with practical, deployable solutions for the shipping industry. The team has demonstrated an exceptional ability to translate complex operational challenges into measurable performance improvements, and we believe their platform is well-positioned to become a key enabler of digital transformation in maritime operations.”

Next steps and growth strategy

The newly secured funding will enable Neptune Zero to:

  • Accelerate product development and expand AI capabilities
  • Scale deployments across global fleets
  • Strengthen its engineering and commercial teams
  • Expand its presence in key international maritime markets
